Julie Marie Wynn of Hermiston died on Jan. 8, 2023 in Hermiston at the age of 80.

She was born on Jan. 23, 1942 in Pendleton to John Wallace Wynn and Mary Elaine Sloan Wynn.

Julie lived in Pendleton until the age of 5 and the family moved to Echo, where she attended school until the seventh grade. Her family then moved to Salem. Julie worked frequently with her dad, commercial crabbing and fishing out of Newport. Her family later returned to the Hermiston/Echo area, where she had lived since.

Julie was active in the Hermiston and Echo Methodist Church choirs and played the hand bells. She loved fishing, sports, board games, puzzles, reading, knitting and listening to country music. Julie participated in the Special Olympics track and field and in bowling, where she received a gold medal. She moved into Avamere in Hermiston, where she enjoyed playing Skipbo, bingo, Toss Across and Aggravation, and working jigsaw puzzles.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2023 at 1 p.m. at Burns Mortuary Chapel, Hermiston.

Burial will follow at the Hermiston Cemetery.
