June Farmer Passes Away at 103

June Norma Farmer, formerly of Hermiston, passed away in Pendleton on Oct. 18, 2023 at the age of 103.

She was born on Feb. 23, 1920 in Aylesbury, Saskatchewan, Canada to Amos and Anna Van De Bogart.

June lived in Canada throughout her childhood, where she attended school. She moved to the United States in the early 1940s and married Jack Morris Farmer. Jack worked for the Umatilla Army Depot and the couple resided in Ordnance for several years. The couple later moved to Hermiston, where June lived for the next 60 years.

June is survived by her two daughters, Trudy Stowell of Pendleton and Carol Duran of California; four grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren; sister, Lois; brother, Jim; and many extended family members.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack in 1985.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 27, 2023 at Burns Mortuary of Hermiston, 685 W. Hermiston Ave.

Burial will follow in the Hermiston Cemetery.
