Kathy M. Deere Brock of Hermiston passed away surrounded by family at her home on March 30, 2023 from a brain tumor at the age of 73.
She was born on Sept. 18, 1949 to Donald and Mary Deere in Montgomery, W.V.
Kathy grew up and attended school in Umatilla. She graduated from Umatilla High School in 1967. After graduation, she landed her first job as a waitress for the Koffee Cup restaurant. In 1966 she met Gary Brock, and they wed on Aug. 16, 1968, going on to have two children, Julie Webb and Kevin Brock. Gary and Kathy were married for 54 years.
Kathy worked at Lamb Weston and then moved on to work at Simplot as a shift manager for many years. She retired from Walmart in 2018. Kathy’s family members were her entire world and she loved spending her time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Kathy radiated love to anyone she met and would do anything for those she loved.
A private family graveside service will be held at the Hermiston Cemetery.
