Kevin L. Helzer of Hermiston died on Jan. 28, 2018 in Pendleton at the age of 57.
He was born on Sept. 27, 1960 in Caldwell, Idaho to Broyce and Nola June Kinley Helzer.
Kevin was raised and attended schools in Idaho, California and Umatilla, where he graduated high school in 1979. He owned and operated his own trucking business for most of his working career. Kevin enjoyed playing pool, watching football and detailing his cars and trucks. He truly cherished time with his family and had a great sense of humor.
He is survived by his daughters, Dawn Helzer, Lacey, Wash. and Lindsey and Natalie Pope, Hermiston; sisters, Margie Gibson (Dave), Salem, Teresa Pivek (Roy), McMinnville and Julie Thomas, Portland; brothers, Dennis Helzer, Eagle Creek and Chris Martin (Barb), Hermiston; sister-in-law, Sharon Helzer, Hermiston; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Kevin was preceded in death by his parents and brother, David Helzer.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, Feb. 2, 2018 at 3:30 p.m. at Burns Mortuary Chapel, Hermiston.
A celebration of life gathering will follow at the Pheasant Bar & Grill banquet room, 149 E. Main St., Hermiston.
