The Umatilla County Land Use Planning Department will begin holding office hours at the Stafford Hansell Government Center in Hermiston beginning Feb. 10.

Planning Director Tamra Mabbott and Planner Shane Finck will hold regular work hours each Tuesday at the Hermiston office.

“We have been working to broaden access to county residents,” said Board of Commissioner Chairman George Murdock. “Scheduling land use planning services is a natural progression, especially given the high level of development activity on the west end of the county.”

The department made this service possible by making some modest office space rearrangements and by scheduling two staff at the Hermiston office. Nearly all land use planning services will be provided on Tuesdays by planners working at the Hermiston office, said Larry Givens, County Commissioner and liaison to the Land Use Planning Department. Drop in visits with a planner will be possible every Tuesday. Scheduled appointments may also be made by calling the courthouse in Pendleton at 541-278-6252.
