An attorney representing 12 victims from the 2012 charter bus crash on Interstate 84 near Pendleton filed a lawsuit seeking $700 million.
The East Oregonian reported a British Columbia lawyer filed the lawsuit Monday in the Umatilla County Courthouse. The group is seeking a jury trial and is accusing that tour operators of being negligent. The East Oregonian reported the group is also accusing the Oregon Department of Transporation of failing to make the icy interstate safe for traveling and failing to put up barriers to keep the bus from going over the cliff.
The crash killed nine people and injured 38.
