The Oregon Department of Fish & Wildlife (ODFW) and partners are hosting several turkey hunting clinics to get new hunters ready for the upcoming spring turkey season (season runs April 15-May 31 statewide).

Participants at the clinics will have the chance to practice their shotgun and or/archery skills and learn the basics of turkey hunting including: proper gear, decoys, turkey behavior, biology and conservation; and turkey calling techniques.

“Spring turkey season is a great time of year to get outside, and the six-week season is open statewide,” said Andy Hamilton, ODFW hunting recruitment specialist. “These hunting workshops will cover all the basics you need to go turkey hunting in 2020.”
