With the price of admission, Tamástslikt visitors can experience the Naami Nishaycht outdoor living culture village at Tamástslikt Cultural Institute each Saturday now through Sept. 5.
The village is open every Saturday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Visitors will be able to view replicas of traditional and prehistoric structures of Plateau Indian people and every weekend they can participate in activities such as atlatl throwing, setting up a teepee, or learning about local foods. Visitors will enjoy a full roster of seasonal cultural activities that village interpreters will demonstrate. The season concludes with the Kidz Pow Wow open to all children, Tribal and non-Tribal, up to 12 years of age.
On Saturday, July 4, visitors will explore and experience traditional survival skills. The atlatl – a tool for survival – will be demonstrated by a local educator. Visitors will have the chance to throw the spear themselves.
