The 12 public libraries in Umatilla County will be celebrating National Library Week, April 9-15, with two very special opportunities for their patrons. As part of the celebration, patrons with overdue fines can have up to $5 forgiven when they visit their local library during that week (check with your library for specifics).

Patrons will also have the opportunity to win one of five $25 Barnes & Noble gift cards. To enter the drawing, simply use your library card to check an item out from one of the twelve city libraries. In addition to books, library patrons can also check out audio books, DVDs, and music CDs at their local library. Use of electronic services, such as Library2Go, will not be entered into the drawing.

Don’t have a library card? Stop by your local library with current ID and proof address to sign up for one. It is a surprisingly pain free experience and one of the staff’s favorite activities.
