The Umatilla County Special Library District Board recently adopted its 2016-2017 budget and it doesn’t include money for a foreign language learning program.
During the budget process the Board had to make some hard decisions about services provided by the district to public library patrons in the county. After reviewing the usage levels of Mango, the online foreign language learning database, the board decided not renew it for the upcoming budget year. Mango was not being used to the level to justify the expense.
