The Hermiston Bulldogs struggled on both sides of the ball Friday night in a 42-0 road loss to the Kennewick Lions.
All but one of the night’s scores came in the second quarter as the 6-1 Lions, up 7-0 after the first quarter, scored five touchdowns in the second to take a 42-0 lead into halftime.
The Bulldogs found little success in the air or on the ground Friday night. Senior quarterback Chase Elliott threw for just 44 yards, connecting on nine of 15 passes. Freshman quarterback Isaac Corey replaced Elliott and had about the same luck, hitting on eight of 15 passes for 56 yards.
The Bulldogs could manage just 29 yards rushing on 13 carries. Caden Hottman led the Bulldogs with four receptions for 20 yards on the night.
Hermiston, 0-6 in conference play and 0-7 overall, will host the Pasco Bulldogs on Friday at Kennison Field.
