Oregon State Rep. Greg Smith (R-Heppner) celebrated City Day at the Capitol on Wednesday with several local officials.

Each legislative session the League of Oregon Cities coordinates a day where mayors, city councilors, city managers, and other city officials descend upon the Capitol to meet with Representatives and Senators to discuss their legislative priorities.

Among those visiting with Smith on Wednesday were Hermiston Mayor Dave Drotzmann, Hermiston City Manager Byron Smith and several members of the Hermiston City Council. Umatilla City Manager Dave Stockdale was also in attendance.

“Our municipal leaders are a critical part of the legislative process, and I would like to extend a thank you the League of Oregon Cities for helping coordinate the day’s activities,” said Rep. Smith “I would also to thank each of the mayors, city managers, and city councilors from District 57 who made the journey down, it is always a blessing to meet with friends.”

Smith is currently serving his twelfth term as a state representative, making him the longest serving member in the Oregon Legislature.
