Cheryl D. Smith Rhea died on Jan. 22, 2014 at her home in Umatilla at the age of 55 years.

She was born on May 29, 1958 in Seattle to Bobby and Cornelia Denny Smith. Cheryl was raised and attended schools in Hermiston, graduating from Hermiston High School in 1976. She then was an owner in the family business before working at UPS for 10 years and then working the last 15 years as an in home caregiver. Cheryl enjoyed reading, art, hunting, fishing, and camping.

She is survived by her sons, Jeromie Brown and wife, Becky, and Dwayne Brown and wife, Jessica, all of Hermiston; brother, John Smith and wife, Hanna, Echo; sister, Patty Ammons and husband, Dave, Pendleton; and two grandchildren, AJ and Makailey.

Cheryl was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Ron Smith.

A private family gathering will be held.
