Longtime Hermiston Resident Edward Willcutt Dies

Edward R. “Ned” Willcutt passed away May 28, 2014, at Good Shepherd Medical Center in Hermiston at the age of 65. Memorial services with Military Honors will be held Saturday, May 31, 2014 at 10 a.m., at Burns Mortuary Chapel in Hermiston.

Ned was born October 25, 1948 in Portland, Oregon the son to Addison Claude Willcutt and Lois Fayetta Wilson. Ned grew up on the coast in Lincoln City, Oregon. He lived in Hermiston for the last 50 years where he graduated from Hermiston High School. He served in the Army from 1968-1970 before coming back to Hermiston and going to work for the Union Pacific Railroad. He worked as a carman, brakeman, and finally a conductor at the railroad for 24 years.

He loved riding motorcycles, being at the Columbia River, and spending time with his friends and family. He was devoted friend and a loving father who will be missed by his daughters.

Survivors include his daughters, Kristi Griffith, Candice Hurst, Rochelle Freeman, Isabelle Nicholes, and Shonie Wilson; 12 grandchildren; brothers, Robert B. Willcutt, Earl D. Bensel, Donald H. Bensel, Richard A. Bensel, and Roger A. Willcutt; cousins, Linda McKilllip, Norm Brown, Stella M. Willcutt, JT Willcutt, Kurt A. Fredriksson, Carol M. Fredriksson. He is also survived by his wife, Yvonne Willcutt and ex-wives, Michelle Christy, mother of two of his girls, and Linda Joan Sidorchuk, mother of his oldest daughter.
He was preceded in death by his sister Barbara Hubbard and cousin, Claudia Jean Fredriksson.
