Friends of the Pendleton Center for the Arts are invited to drop in Wednesday, Dec. 29 to say goodbye to long-time PCA Development Director J.D. Smith, who begins his retirement the following day.
Smith has shepherded the organization through its first 20 years in the renovated Carnegie Library building, and leaves a legacy of having started the Art Rocks Teens program, including the free Rock & Roll Camp, now in its 16th year, among many other accomplishments.
“Keeping a nonprofit arts organization financially stable for two decades is no small feat,” said PCA Board President Susan DeMarsh. “We would not be where we are today without J.D.’s skilled work.”
Guests are invited to drop in from 10 a.m. to noon to visit with Smith, and there will be a short program at 11 a.m. for board members, staff, and anyone else who would like to attend. Masks are required. More information is available by calling 541-310-7413 or emailing director@pendletonarts.org.
