Man Faces Multiple Charges After Allegedly Stealing E. Oregon Vehicle

A man from South Carolina was arrested in Washington after stealing a vehicle in Oregon.

The Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office received a report on Aug. 8 of a stolen GMC Sierra in Meacham. According to the sheriff’s office, the vehicle was stolen from behind a locked gate, behind four “No Trespassing” signs. The gate was torn open with a cable and the locks were broken.

A firearm was also reported to be in the stolen vehicle.

A sheriff’s deputy contacted OnStar which located the vehicle in Selah, Wash. Troopers from the Washington State Patrol responded to the scene where they found and arrested Daniel Poe, 39, of South Carolina. Poe was charged with possession of stolen motor vehicle, possession of stolen firearm, theft of firearm and theft of motor vehicle.

Poe is currently in custody in Yakima County Jail.
