Man Suspected of Dragging HPD Officer Arrested in Clackamas County

The man Hermiston police believe was the suspect who dragged an officer with a stolen vehicle has been arrested in Clackamas County.

Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested Naythan Olney, 36, on Wednesday following a stolen vehicle pursuit.

Olney was charged with a laundry list of charges: three counts of attempt to elude police officer, three counts of unauthorized use of a vehicle, forgery in the first degree, fugitive from another state, two counts reckless driving, eluding a police officer, possession of meth, assault in the third degree, criminal mischief in the first degree, reckless endangering, two counts failure to appear contempt, three counts failure to appear for possession of a stolen vehicle, failure to appear for aggravated theft in the first degree, and failure to appear in the first degree.

Olney has been involved in several incidents of eluding police including a Feb. 24 incident in which Hermiston Police Department Corporal Doug Gill was dragged and injured by a vehicle operated by Olney.
