Manulife (formerly Hancock) properties in northeast Oregon has reopened for day use only, according to the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife.
Day use hours are 4 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Fire danger has eased slightly but remains high. Fire restrictions remain in effect, including the following restrictions: Open fires and non-industrial use of chainsaws are prohibited and hunters are required to possess firefighting equipment (one shovel and one gallon of water or one 2.5 pound or larger fire extinguisher) when traveling on roads (except for highways or county roads).
Manulife lands in northeast Oregon (including within the Shamrock, Whiskey Cr, Noregaard, Little Catherine Cr, Meacham travel management areas) had closed in mid July due to extreme fire danger.
Reminder that motorized vehicles are only allowed on designated roads outside of Travel Management Areas.
