Margie Kathryn Souza of Hermiston passed away in Hermiston on June 23, 2024 at the age of 85.
She was born on April 17, 1939 in Glendale, Ariz. to Taft and Lucille Daffern Sisco.
Margie moved to Oregon as a child, where she received her education. In 1981, she moved to Eastern Oregon and had resided in the Hermiston area for over 40 years. Margie worked as a cook throughout much of her career and she missed her daily interaction with her many customers at the Best Western. She loved her family dearly, especially her grandbabies. She also enjoyed going to the Cowboy Church in Hermiston.
She is survived by eight children, Faith (Rolando) Cerrillo, Rosa Jimenez, Debbie (Brent) Jimenez, Sonja Eldred, Elizabeth (David) Richardson, Tanja (David) Holmes, Armilda Guerrero and Destiny Guerrero; 18 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; two stepsons, Refugio (Alex) Amaya Guerrero and Aldo Guerrero; siblings, Mickey (Jim) Johnson, Margaret Charter, Myra Derrick, Marie (Larry) Cobb, Sue Sisco, Buck (Harriet) Sisco, Cindy (Alan) Biggs and Ron Sisco; and many extended family members.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Taft and Lucille; her son, Marco “Pete” Guerrero; granddaughter, Courtney Janel Snider; and a brother, Butch Sisco.
A celebration of life will be announced at a later time.
A private burial will be in the Echo Cemetery.
