Ethel Farmer Wilkerson “Miss Margie”, 97, moved to heaven August 26, 2013 from home in Echo. 
Margie was born in Marietta, Ga., to Frank and Hattie Farmer on Aug. 21, 1916. She went to high school at Marietta High School and went on to business school in Atlanta. She was a comptometor operator for the aircraft plant during World War II and married Albert Roy “Shorty” Wilkerson in 1942. They moved to Southern California is 1958 where Shorty died in 1960. Margie when to work for the Hudson School District, La Puente, Calif., as a teacher’s aid and retired in 1983.She moved to Estacada in 1985 and on to Echo in 2007. She belonged to Stanfield Baptist Church, was a member of the Echo Garden Club, greeted customers at Echo’s His Design Thrift and Gift, and enjoyed her puzzle books and spending time with her family. All kinds of music, especially Southern Gospel music, gave her great joy in life.

Margie is preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Hattie Farmer; and stepmother, Janet Farmer; her husband, Albert Roy Wilkerson; two brothers, Ernest and Clifton Farmer.

Margie is survived by her daughter, Gayle Barton Yoder and son-in-law Richard Yoder of Echo; granddaughters, Jennifer Kyser of Milwaukie, and Carrie Barton Walker of Silverton; great-grandchildren, Stephen, Colin, and Clarice Walker of Silverton; and Sterling and Jewel Kyser of Milwaukie; stepgranddaughters, Sally Willis of Myrtle Creek, and Katie Mason of Eugene.

A funeral service was held at Springwater Cemetery, Estacada, on Friday, Aug, 30 2013, with Pastor Bill Griggs officiating. Potluck dinner will follow at Clackamas Valley Baptist Church in Estacada. Burns Mortuary of Hermiston and Estacada Funeral Chapel of Estacada are handling the funeral arrangements.
