Maria I. Flores passed away peacefully in her home on Dec. 30, 2022 at the age of 57 after a courageous battle with colon cancer.
She was born on Oct. 24, 1965 in Blackfoot, Idaho to Raul S. Flores and Irene Rebollosa Flores.
Her family was very dear to her. She helped raise and care for her nieces and nephews since her youth, years before her own children were born. Her love for her family influenced her love for photography. Her photos preserved memories to last a lifetime. She had a passion for reading. She’d read to the little ones, and taught them to always enrich their minds and to dream their wildest dreams. Maria was a homemaker for most of her years. After raising a family, she held positions at Walmart and Grocery Outlet. Her kindness and positivity extended to her coworkers and customers as she lent a helping hand and an open heart to her community. Maria is survived by her loving partner of over 23 years, Raul Arredondo-Serano; her four resilient daughters, Perlita Veronica, Marielena Fe, Emilia Sara, and Isabel Cristina; her siblings, Richard, Juanita, Eloy, Rodolfo, Consuelo and Veronica (Michael); and many nieces, nephews, cousins and aunts.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her baby, Consuelo; brother, Raul Jr.; and sister, Irene Theresa. Her laughter and singing will forever be in our hearts. She was a strong and devoted mother, partner, daughter, sister, cousin and friend. She will be missed dearly.
A celebration of life service will be held on Friday, Jan. 13, 2023 at 2 p.m. at Burns Mortuary Chapel, Hermiston.
