Mark Cliff Passes Away at 53
Mark James Cliff of Umatilla died on Feb. 12, 2020 in Hermiston at the age of 53.
He was born on April 13, 1966 in Portland to George Howard and Mary Jean Evans Cliff.
Mark was raised and attended schools in the Portland area, graduating from Lakeridge High School in 1984. He served a mission in Tallahassee, Fla. before returning to Portland. Mark graduated from Portland State University with a bachelor’s degree in art and architecture. He later went to PCC, where he earned his certificate in computer drafting. Mark was united in marriage to Sandi Pack on Sept. 13, 1997 in Lake Oswego. He worked for Childers, GE Interlogix, Inc. and for Sargent Architects for several years before starting Cliff Dweller Drafting and Design.
Mark enjoyed writing, trains and Star Wars, and was a sci-fi fan. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Mark earned his Eagle Scout badge as a young man and continued working with the Scouts through the years. Mark was a loving husband, father, family member and caring friend.
He is survived by his wife, Sandi; daughters, Krista and Alicia; and four siblings and their families.
Mark was preceded in death by his parents.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, Feb. 22, 2020 at 3 p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 15 Grant St., Umatilla.
Burial will follow at the Sunset Hills Cemetery, Umatilla.
