Mark Eugene Cook of Stanfield passed away at his home in Stanfield on Aug. 7, 2022 at the age of 63.

He was born on April 16, 1959 in Hermiston to Jack and Beverly Link Cook.

He started grade school in Hermiston then moved to Pendleton, where he continued grade school, middle school and high school. While in high school, he excelled in baseball, football and track and field.

Mark married Raissa Baisley, and from this union became stepfather to Charissa and fathered Casey. The couple later divorced.

He worked as a supervisor for JM Eagle Manufacturing Company in McNary for over 20 years. He then worked as a water technician at the Potlatch Tree Farm between Hermiston and Boardman for an additional 10 years. His last job was with Keystone RV in Pendleton, where he worked until retiring in 2020.

Mark was a talented artist and a self-taught guitar player who enjoyed jamming with his friends. He loved the mountains, camp fires, hunting, fishing, riding his dirt bike, and just having a good time with his family and friends. He had a way of putting his life experiences into captivating and funny stories that he would tell anyone within ear distance. He was a member of the Stanfield Moose Lodge.

He is survived by a daughter, Charissa Riddle (Baisley); son, Casey Cook; mother, Beverly Stewart; three siblings, Kim Richardson, Greg Richardson and Dawn Dacus; and many nieces, nephews and extended family members.
