Mark E. Wickersham died on June 29, 2022 at his home in Hermiston at the age of 69.
He was born on Sept. 24, 1952 in Portland to Elwood and Ina Belle Laired Wickersham.
Mark was raised and attended schools in the Portland area and spent as much time as he could at the Oregon coast during the summer. He enlisted in the United States Coast Guard in 1970 and served until his honorable discharge in 1974. Mark married Shirley Ann Miller and they had two children, Shane Ray and Shawn Paul, before later divorcing. In 1979 he met Twylia Fisher, who would become his best friend and later his wife, on Aug. 19, 1984. They added two more children to their family, Misti Dawn and Kimberly Fawn. They settled in the Hermiston area in 1994, where they raised their family.
Mark worked for the Oregon Department of Corrections until retiring in 2014. He truly loved life, spending time with his family and friends and cherished time with his grandchildren, and he had a passion for the Oregon coast and wolves. Mark was very tech savvy when it came to computers and their operating systems.
