Umatilla’s Marlene McFadden Passes Away at 82

Marlene Joy Sharer McFadden died on April 11, 2017. Her final days were spent with family, who loved her dearly, by her side.

She was born on Dec. 31, 1934 in Hillsboro to Bill and Muriel Holt Bedortha. She was the oldest of four girls. She grew up in Clatskanie and graduated from high school in 1953.

She married and worked in the Portland and Bend areas during her early life. From those earlier marriages, she had four children: Dean and Debi Harrison, and Dwain and Darin Crosby. In 1966, she married Roy Sharer. They moved to Hermiston and had two children, Shelly Sharer Lougee and Angie Sharer Tidwell. They moved to the Prineville area after Roy retired.

She worked as a cook in restaurants throughout her life. She enjoyed doing family history work, music, and having family reunions. Her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were her life!

She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy, and her sister, Janice Burbank.

She is survived by her children and their spouses, Debi Harrison, Dean (Julia) Harrison, Dwain (Carol) Crosby, Darin (Carleen) Crosby, Shelly (David) Lougee, and Angie (Robert) Tidwell; 23 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at 2 p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 15 Grant Ave., Umatilla.

Burial will be on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at 1 p.m. at Juniper Haven Cemetery, Prineville.
