She was born Feb. 17, 1949 in Niangua, Mo., to George William & Geneva Pauline (Reese) Cain.
She graduated from Pendleton High School. She married Robert Keeney in 1989 in Hawaii and worked for the State of Hawaii for many years. Marlois was an excellent crafter of beautiful lampwork beads as well as other crafts. She was very close to her companion dog Hoku. Sadly Hoku passed away the same evening as Marlois. She had a love for music and enjoyed playing the organ & piano.
Marlois is survived by sisters, Janice (Al) Smith of Keeau, HI, Glenda Phillips of Umatilla, OR, Susan (Brett) Swearingen of Pendleton, OR, and Cindy (Mark) Hobbs of Challis, ID; brothers, Jerry (Kay) Cain of Grand Junction, CO, Wes (Jennie) Cain of Pendleton, OR, Tim (Leslie) Cain of Pendleton, OR, and Randall (Sue) Cain of Cove, OR; and many nieces and nephews.
Marlois was preceded in death by her husbands, Robert Coonrod & Robert Keeney; parents, George Cain & Geneva (Cain) Keown; brother, Larry L. Cain and infant brother, Dale E. Cain.
A gathering for family and friends will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, February 20, 2016 at 72035 Tutuilla Road, Pendleton, OR 97801. A private burial will be held later this summer. Any correspondence may be sent to the Tutuilla Road address in care of Susan Swearingen.
