Marvin L. “Bud” Guyon died on Sept. 25, 2014 at his home in Hermiston at the age of 76.
He was born on April 19, 1938 in Oak Grove, La., to John and Dulcie Thames Guyon. Bud was raised in Plaqueman, Louisiana. He served in the United States Navy from 1956 until his honorable discharge in 1959. Bud then served in the Merchant Marines for more than 45 years until retiring in 2008. He married Anita Diaz on May 6, 1960 in Winterhaven, Calif. They moved to Hermiston in 1972 where they have lived since. Bud was baptized in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was a former member of the Eagles Lodge. He enjoyed going for drives in the mountains, working in his yard, and taking the girls shopping.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Anita Guyon, Hermiston; son, Gilbert Guyon and his wife Angie, Wyoming; daughter, Lisa Guyon Credille, Hermiston; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and other family members.
Bud was preceded in death by his son, John W. Guyon.
A graveside military service will be held on Monday, Oct. 6, 2014 at 2 p.m. at the Hermiston Cemetery.
