Mary Badgwell of Hermiston Passes Away at 67

Mary Maxine Badgwell of Hermiston died on Sept. 13, 2015 in Hermiston at the age of 67.

She was born on March 1, 1948 in Great Falls, Mont., to Robert and Lois Grasberg Dempsey. She was raised and attended school in Kalispell, Mont. Mary was united in marriage to Calvin Bruce Badgwell on Jan. 21, 1968 in Selah, Wash. They lived in Yakima, Wash., for several years before moving to Hermiston in 1985 where they have lived since. Mary worked for Hermiston Foods for a few years before going to work at the Wal-Mart Distribution Center in 1998. She worked there in Traffic and Receiving until retiring in 2013. Mary was an avid supporter of her children and grandchildren in their participation in sports, activities, and hobbies.

She enjoyed playing Yahtzee, crocheting, crafts, traveling, shopping, camping, and cheering for the Oregon Ducks in football. Mary cherished her time spent with her family.

She is survived by her husband: Bruce Badgwell, Hermiston, OR; son: Brian Badgwell & wife Anne, Clarkston, WA; daughter: Nancy Blount & husband Jim, Kennewick, WA; brothers: Bob Dempsey, Spanaway, WA, Kenny Dempsey, Spokane, WA, Keith Dempsey, Prosser, WA, Charlie Dempsey, & Doug Dempsey, both of Seaside, OR; sister: Katy Aulston, Seaside, OR; three grandchildren: Tyler, Raechel, & Riley; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Darlene Dempsey.

A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, Sept. 19, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. at Burns Mortuary Chapel, Hermiston, Oregon.
