Mary Ellen Johnson, former Hermiston resident, died on October 19, 2015 at her home in Hatton, Washington at the age of 92.
She was born on January 29, 1923 in Lima. Ohio to parents, Raymond Jackson Folk and Freda Frances Mark Folk. Mary Ellen was raised and attended schools in Idaho. She and her husband James Frank Johnson moved to Hermiston in 1950 where she lived until 2005 when she moved to Hatton, Washington where she has lived since. Mary Ellen was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of latter Day Saints, the Hermiston Eagles Lodge, and was active in the Boy Scouts. She enjoyed crafts, crocheting, singing, Betty Boop, and time with her friends.
She is survived by her children: Billie Rickrode, Plantation, FL, Mildred Cash, Florence, South Carolina, Linda Pitts, Hatton, WA, Marion Perry, West Point, UT, Mary Ellen Gerisch (Ronald), West Richland, WA, Sharon Quinn (Raymond) Kennewick, WA, Donna McElroy, Tualitan, OR, Darlene Krueger (Charles) Warden, WA, Marcia Jimenez, Plymouth, WA, John Johnson, Salem, and a granddaughter who she raised: Dawn Johnson; 44 grandchildren; 121 great grandchildren; and 29 great great grandchildren.
Mary Ellen was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, children: James Frank Johnson Jr., Frances Mary Longhorn, Charles Johnson; and grandchildren: Shayla Frady & Angel Johnson.
A graveside funeral service was held on Saturday, October 24, 2015 at the Hermiston Cemetery.
