Max Fredrick Kirklin of Beaverton passed away peacefully attended by his family on June 26, 2021 in Beaverton at the age of 90.

Max was born on May 13, 1931 to Ethel and Fred Kirklin in Spokane, Wash.

He loved his family, traveling, golfing and especially socializing. Max graduated from Lewis & Clark High School and afterward served in the U.S. Navy Reserves. What began as a delivery job (on a three-wheel Harley at age 16) grew into a 51-year career with Allied Security/Safe & Vault, eventually serving as executive vice president, managing the Oregon division. As a sales manager working with large organizations, Max made many friends in the Portland area. He also participated in many service organizations, remarking, “I was every animal in the zoo: elk, eagle, lion….”

Max married Mary Lou White and had two children, Brook and Jill. As a widower, he married Sharon Billing and shared 49 years traveling and socializing together.

Max is survived by his wife, Sharon Kirklin; son, Brook (Alison); daughter, Jill Peeler (Bob); granddaughters, Amanda Boyer (Sean), Heather Clark and Mary Simmons; great grandchildren, Abby, Jaxson, Kyia, Makenzie and Max; brother, Ralph Kirklin (Dana); sister, Marilu Sartian; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Mary Lou Kirklin.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, July 10, 10:30 a.m. at Echo Cemetery, immediately followed by a celebration of life at Echo Ridge Cellars.

In lieu of flowers, we suggest remembrances to the Oregon Humane Society.
