Maxine C. Meyers, our beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother passed away peacefully Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2016 in Spokane, Wash., at the age of 92.
Maxine was born Nov. 23, 1923 to John and Ruby Blick in Ferndale, Wash. She graduated from Custer High School May 1942. Maxine went to work in the shipyards at Everett, Wash., as a welder. She then joined the US Navy, first assigned to the Bronx N.Y., then transferring to Memphis, Tenn. Maxine was honorably discharged April 1949. After the Navy, Maxine traveled by train to begin college at Washington State University. Maxine met and married Marshall Meyers while in college there. Marshall and Maxine settled in Echo where they raised their family.
Maxine was a great cook and baker. The cookie jar was never empty. She loved to garden and her yard was always filled with beautiful flowers.
Maxine was active in Eastern Star, Garden Club and the Methodist Church.
Maxine loved to play every card game you can imagine with her family and friends.
Maxine is predeceased by her husband Marsh and granddaughter Ashleigh. She is survived by her four children: Lynn, Ron (Johanna), Gary, Karen (Robert) Holman; grandchildren: Shane (Melanie) Roberts, Casey (Lacee) Holman, Cameron Meyers, Alexander Meyers, Ruby Meyers, Joseph Meyers, great grandchildren: Danica Jo Holman, Eli Holman and Rhea Jean Holman.
A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 13, 2016 at the Echo Cemetery.
