Michael R. “Mike” Shaffer of Umatilla died on Aug. 30, 2023 in Boise, Idaho at the age of 50.
He was born on Sept. 19, 1972 in Salem.
Mike was raised in Salem before moving to Umatilla in 1987, where he had lived since. He loved music (playing guitar and writing music), was a talented artist who enjoyed karaoke, and had a great sense of humor. Mike was loved and will be missed by many.
He is survived by his parents, Becky and Tom Wiggins, Hermiston; son, Gunner Shaffer, Irrigon; sisters, Jeni Reeves (Joe), Hermiston, Ashley Erevia (Tony), Hermiston, Traci Meredith (Charles), Albany and Tomi King (Jason), Sublimity; brother, Richard Wiggins, Woodburn; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
A private family burial will be held at the Hermiston Cemetery.
