Miller McCoard, 94, of Hermiston, died on Sunday, July 12, 2015 at the Good Shepherd Medical Center.
He was born at Rupert, Idaho on March 26, 1921.
Miller worked for the railroad for 30 years and married Helen P. Young on Dec. 20 1946 in Portland. He was a member of the mobile missionary assistance program for 15 years. He helped establish the Stanfield Baptist Church. His hobbies were stamp collecting and making latch hook rugs. He was a veteran of World War II serving the U.S. Army.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John & Mary McCoard; two sons, Jerald McCoard & Norman McCoard; three brothers, Weston McCoard, Richard McCoard, & Bert McCoard.
Miller is survived by his wife, Helen P. McCoard of Hermiston; two sons, Lowell McCoard & Dale McCoard; two daughters, Mary L. Frey & Gloria H. Renfro; 14 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and a niece and nephew.
Graveside service with military honors was held on July 16, 2015 at the Echo Cemetery in Echo.
