Minnie Kathlyn Sheets, 95, passed away Sept. 15, 2013. She was born on Sept. 17, 1917 to William and Mona Bane in Emmett, Idaho.

A graduate of Emmett High School, Class of 1935, she attended Boise Business College. She worked for the Idaho Department of Law Enforcement for the Department of Motor Vehicles and was the stenographer for the governor in Boise, Idaho. While living in Boise, she met and married her late husband Edwin E. Sheets on Dec. 3, 1938. He served in the U.S. Army in the Philippines. After serving in the military they lived in Hunt, Idaho at the Japanese Relocation Center during World War II and then moved back to Emmett, Idaho where they purchased a sporting goods store. They lived there until 1945 and moved to the Milton-Freewater area and started a Men’s Wear and sporting goods store. In 1956 they moved to Hermiston and purchased Ed Sheets Clothing Store.

She is survived by her loving son, Marc David Sheets; grandchildren, Jackie, Sean, Krista, Tara and Tanya; and nieces and nephews, Bret, Pam, Rick and Jeff. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Ed; two sons, Jack Dale Sheets and William Edwin Sheets; and two brothers, Tom and Jim Bane.

Interment was held in Hermiston under the care of Burns Mortuary of Hermiston.
