An 18-year-old male from Heppner faces 30 counts of sexual crimes against two children.
Saul Nathan Lopez remains in the Umatilla County Jail, Pendleton, in lieu of $500,000 bail.
The Morrow County Sheriff’s Office in a press release Wednesday, May 3, reported it received a complaint April 13 of a possible sex crime involving several victims.
The ensuing investigation led the sheriff’s office to arrest Lopez on 17 counts — four counts of third-degree rape and 13 of first-degree online sexual corruption of a child.
State court records show a grand jury on May 1 handed up in indictment accusing Lopez of committing 30 sex crimes from about Nov. 1, 2022, until April 24, including several of second-degree online sexual corruption of a child, third-degree rape and using a child in a sexually explicit display.
The sheriff’s office reported the investigation is ongoing.
