The name of the man found shot to death in Hermiston Tuesday morning has been identified as Jesus Eli Lopez, 21, of Hermiston.
The Umatilla County District Attorney’s Office released the identity this morning and said the death is being investigated as a homicide.
Lopez’ body was found Tuesday morning when the Hermiston Police Department was called to a residence on the 300 block of East Francolin Avenue regarding an unresponsive male. HPD officers arrived at the scene and determined the victim had suffered a fatal gunshot wound. His name had not been released at the time until family could be notified.
On Tuesday, the district attorney’s office said there is “little information available concerning the motive or the identity of person(s) responsible for the shooting.”
In today’s statement, the office said the Umatilla-Morrow Major Crime Team is continuing the investigation and that would “be no further updates at this time.”
