If you’re in the market for a new vehicle, August is a good month to check out the new and used vehicles at Tom’s Country Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram, 81143 N. Highway 395 in Hermiston.

The Tom Denchel dealership, which had its grand opening on Friday, is donating a portion of every sale in August to the Agape House in Hermiston. In fact, some of the proceeds from all sales at each of Denchel’s dealerships in Hermiston, Pendleton and Prosser will be donated to Agape House as well as Second Harvest Food Bank in the Tri-Cities.

“Thank you for all you do in our community,” said David Hughes of the Agape House. “The need is so great.”

Jean Tucker of Second Harvest Food Bank said $1,000 in cash can provide 5,000 meals for hungry people.

“Your contribution goes a long way,” she said.

Tom’s Country General Manager Juan Ozuna said the dealership represents a commitment to investing in the community, adding that Denchel’s four dealerships employ 150 people.

Friday’s grand opening included a ribbon-cutting ceremony hosted by the Hermiston Chamber of Commerce with lunch catered by Famous Dave’s out of the Tri-Cities.

“On behalf of the Hermiston Chamber of Commerce, we would like to welcome you to our town,” said the chamber’s Kelly Sanders.
