Northeast Oregon Now is now a bilingual website.
We recently added Google Translate which converts the content of the website into Spanish. We are fully aware that Google Translate is far from perfect. It cannot compare to a human translator, so therefore it is unable to convey all meanings accurately and naturally.
But the technology is improving all the time and we will upgrade Google Translate each time a new version is introduced. In the meantime, however, we see value in the service. Our Spanish-speaking readers should be able to get the gist of each story we publish. The city of Hermiston seeks to be an inclusive city and Northeast Oregon Now seeks to be an inclusive website.
It’s easy to switch the website over to Spanish. Simply scroll to the bottom of any page on the website and go where it says “Select Language” and choose Spanish.
We welcome any and all feedback. Let us know how well it is working and we’ll always be looking for ways to improve it.
