The Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife will host a series of introductory hunting workshops in December and January at the new Cabela’s store in Tualatin and the Tualatin River National Wildlife Refuge.
The workshops are free, but pre-registration is required. Register at ODFW’s license sales website and be sure to choose the right date and class.
The workshops cover topics like gear and equipment needed for various hunts, regulations, finding places to hunt, wildlife identification and dressing and caring for game. Participants of all ages are welcome. For more information on these and other classes visit the ODFW calendar.

An Introduction to Hunting in Oregon series will include five classes and focus on opportunities within a 50-mile-radius of Portland. Sign up for one class or all five.
