The Oregon Department of Transportation gave an update Tuesday on several projects in Umatilla and Morrow counties.

I-84: Old Oregon Trail Highway (MP 241-248.5)

Crews are rebuilding travel lanes with concrete and resurfacing passing lanes with asphalt, upgrading select bridge decks, guardrail and other freeway features as needed.

Traffic has been switched to a single lane in each direction and routed to share westbound lanes. There will be two lanes westbound for the steep grade between mileposts 248-246 to allow passing. Everywhere else will be reduced to a single lane in each direction. There will be a couple of emergency turnouts available each direction to allow for disabled vehicles. Speeds are reduced to 50 mph through the work zone. Project began in 2021 and is scheduled for completion by November.

U.S. 30: Pendleton Highway, SE Court Avenue (MP 3.1-3.4)

Lane and sidewalk closures continue along the south side of SE Court Avenue and SE 1st Street. Crews are replacing traffic signal light poles and working on sidewalks and curb ramps. Temporary pedestrian access routes are provided around the work zone and businesses are open. Project is scheduled for completion in May.
