OES Youth Orchesta, Preludes Orchestra to Perform Tonight

Oregon East Symphony’s Youth Orchestra and Preludes Orchestra are presenting their free winter concert tonight at the Vert Auditorium, 480 S.W. Dorion Ave. in Pendleton.

The OES Youth Orchestra will perform arrangements of Saraband and Gavotte from Greig’s Holberg Suite, Mussorgsky’s Night on Bald Mountain, Strauss’ Fledermaus Waltzes, Casals’ Song of the Birds and Smetana’s Themes from the Moldau.

The Preludes Orchestra will perform Richard Meyer’s Chins and Pins, arrangements of Mahler’s Mysterious March and Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overture, and a mash-up of works by Haydn and Mozart entitled Accent on the Classics.

The concert starts at 7 p.m. and will be followed by a reception in the Vert Clubroom downstairs. For more information, go to the symphony’s website.
