The Pilot Truck Stop in Stanfield is a little bit sweeter these days thanks to the opening of a Cinnabon stand in its main area.
Monday afternoon, Shelbi Rhine spread frosting onto trays of freshly baked cinnamon rolls, drawing interest from customers as the bakery smell drifted through the building.
“It’s been really good,” Rhine said of the response. “We sell out. It’s hard to keep up with the customer demand.”
Pilot Manager Tara Rosenberg said the truck stop chain is expanding Cinnabon into locations across the country and opened in the Stanfield stop about three weeks ago. Rosenberg said the Cinnabon replaces the Tornados grill but all other features will remain, including fresh fruit and vegetables and coffee, as well as the center’s Subway and McDonald’s.
