The public is invited to provide input on the Oregon Department of Transportation’s Draft Bicycle/Pedestrian Plan at an open house from 4 – 6 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 13 at the city of Pendleton offices, 500 SW Dorion.
For those who can’t attend in person, an online open house will be accessible for anyone to review and comment on the draft plan.
The Bicycle/Pedestrian Plan creates a framework for making strategic decisions about bicycle and pedestrian facilities and programs. Although it does not list specific projects or design requirements, the plan does identify biking and walking system needs and opportunities, with a goal of creating a path forward for achieving a connected, safe and efficient network.
The plan has been developed over the past two years by several committees made up of stakeholders from around the state representing the active transportation community, businesses, non-profits, local governments and other organizations. Visit the ODOT website to learn more about the process, review the draft plan, and access the online open house.
