Oregon Business magazine has a feature profiling Joe Franell, general manager of Eastern Oregon Telecom (EOT).
The profile is in the form of a question-and-answer format. Franell discusses the formation of EOT, the challenges of providing broadband service in rural areas and future plans for EOT.
Franell also talks about current plans for providing more broadband in the Boardman area.
Here’s an excerpt:
“We still have quite a bit in Boardman to build out,” he said. “We need to put up a few more wireless towers to try and cover areas that are underserved — where there is no broadband and the only option is cellular or satellite.”
