Labor Day weekend is upon us, and Oregon Health Authority has some words of caution for Oregonians as they plan their get-togethers and activities.
Past holiday weekends have led to COVID-19 outbreaks among people celebrating in risky ways. Following public health guidance over the past few weeks has helped slow the spread of coronavirus, and OHA says that people need to modify or cancel holiday weekend gatherings and celebrate in safe ways to continue making progress.
Below are some things to remember from OHA for a safer holiday celebration. For more information, visit the OHS website or call 211.
- Activities with the lowest risk involve only you and the people you live with.
- Private spaces, such as your home or backyard, carry the lowest risk.
- Activities that allow at least 6 feet of distance between you and non-household members are less risky.
- Spending less time around non-household members presents less risk.
