The Watercolor Society of Oregon will hold its fall convention on Saturday at Blue Mountain Community College’s Eastern Oregon Higher Education Center in Hermiston.
“Gorgeous, creative, dynamic, beautiful, and inspiring are just a few of the words that will come to mind while viewing the Fall Watercolor Exhibit”, said Desert Arts Council Board member Mary Corp. Hermiston has not ever hosted an art exhibit of this size or stature, according to Corp. The public will have an opportunity to view 80 watercolor paintings and meet the artists behind them during the convention.
A reception will be held from 5:30-6:30 p.m. on Saturday at the EOHEC, and the public is invited to meet the artists and juror Ratindra Das. All of the artists are Oregonians from across the state who are members of the Watercolor Society of Oregon. The artwork in the show are the best watercolors from 400 entries.
The exhibit will remain open to the public at BMCC Hermiston through the month of October. There is no admission charge, and the show is sponsored by the Watercolor Society of Oregon, BMCC and the Desert Arts Council.
The exhibit is part of the Watercolor Society of Oregon’s Fall Convention, which runs Oct. 2-4 at the EOHEC.
