Pamela Haney Passes Away at 66

Pamela Lee Haney of Baker City, formerly of Echo, passed away at her residence on June 21, 2022 at the age of 66.

On Oct. 1, 1955, Pamela was born in Baker. She was raised by her parents, Cyril “Kaye” McAtee and Jessie L. Boyer McAtee.

Pamela graduated from Echo High School in 1974. She retired from her career with the United States Post Office in Hermiston as a rural route mail carrier in 2013 after more than 25 years.

Pamela was a great fisherwoman, and she loved playing pinball. She also liked bowling, playing cards, and watching game shows. Her favorite television programs were Little House on the Prairie, Bonanza, and Gunsmoke. Her most significant accomplishments were raising her daughters, Kimmy and Kelly, and being a grandmother and great grandmother to six grandchildren and one great grandchild. She loved playing with her grandchildren and watching them grow.

Pamela is survived by her daughters, Kim “Kimmy” Evans of Boise, Idaho and Kelly Melo of Baker City; siblings, Ted McAtee, Rob McAtee, Scott McAtee, Donna Bradbury and Brenda Hunter; six grandchildren, Kaitlyn 24, Jaylee 20, Hudson 16, Marnie 15, Gracie 14, and Carter 11; and her great-grandchild, Evelynn, who is 1 year old.

She was preceded in death by her father, Kaye McAtee; her mother, Jessie McAtee; and her brother, Greg McAtee.

A service will be held on Aug. 12, 2022 at the Echo Cemetery at 10 a.m., with a reception following at the Echo Ridge Winery.
