Pamela Lynne “Pammy” Wunderlich of Heppner passed away at her beach home in Washington on Aug. 16, 2026 at the age of 80 after a long fight with many illnesses.
Pammy was born on Feb. 11, 1946 in Jacksonville, Fla. Here, her mother Ginger was visiting her father Billy, who was stationed at the naval air base. Shortly after, they returned to Heppner.
Pammy attended college at Arizona State University (go Sun Devils!). She became a realtor in the valley where she met her husband, Mark. They were married at De Grazia Mission of the Sun in Tucson, Ariz. on Feb. 2, 1991.
In the spring of 1993, after taking their vacation at Wilkinson Ranch, Pam and Mark then moved to the ranch that she grew up on, where they worked until taking over the operation for her parents.
Pretty, funny and smart, Pammy was captivated by French foreign films. She spoke fluent French, so they were her favorite. She loved French food and was practiced at cooking it; her sauces were magnifique! She had traveled around the world and still her favorite place was Eastern Oregon. She was an honest, loving, kind, and faithful daughter, wife, mother, and aunt. Her love of food, music, song, art, and work were outweighed only by her true love of animals (sorry everyone; they came first). Pammy felt very strongly that pets and livestock alike deserve the best treatment possible because they depend on us.
To know Pammy was to love Pammy.
Pammy is survived by her husband, Mark; his daughter, Summer; Pam’s daughter, Angela, her husband Mike and their son-in-law; niece, Nancy Paine, her three children and four grandchildren; and nephew, Shawn Paine and his two children.
She was preceded in death by her birth father, William Shannon Cochell; her sister, Judith Ann Paine; her mother, Virginia Lucia Cochell; and her adoptive father, Richard Thomas Wilkinson.
No formal services will be held at this time. A celebration of life will be held in the near future.
