Do you own an undisciplined puppy or older dog and need help training it? The Hermiston Parks and Recreation Department is here to help by offering something new, beginning Saturday, April 8, 2017: dog obedience training classes.
The Puppy Class is a great introductory class that teaches simple cues, basic manners and socialization skills. To qualify, puppies must be two to six months old, and you must provide proof of the first two sets of shots. Classes will include puppy play time for socialization. A Certificate of Completion will be awarded at the last class. Session 1 will run from April 8 through May 13, 9 a.m. to 10 a.m.; Session 2 will run from June 3 through July 8, 9 a.m. to 10 a.m.; and Session 3 will run from July 22 through Aug. 26, 9 a.m. to 10 a.m.
The Dog Class is a great class to introduce your dog to basic commands and a behavior foundation. Dogs must be over six months and older, and you must provide proof of all shots, including rabies vaccination. A Certificate of Completion will be awarded at the last class. Session 1 will run from April 8 through May 13, 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.; Session 2 will run from June 3 through July 8, 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.; and Session 3 will run from July 22 through Aug. 26, 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
The cost is $150 per session for residents and $187 per session for non-residents. When registering, you will need to provide proof of up-to-date shots and vaccinations for all dog participants.
