Parks Department Offering Youth, Adult Sports Leagues

Registration is now open for fall youth and adult volleyball and flag football leagues available through the Hermiston Parks and Recreation Department. Here’s the lineup:

Youth Volleyball – This league is open to third- through sixth-graders. The season runs Sept. 16-Oct. 28, and all games are played on Saturdays. The cost is $35 for residents and $44 for non-residents, and jerseys are $15, if needed. The registration deadline is Sept. 1.

Youth Flag Football – This league is open to first- through fourth-graders. The season runs Sept. 16-Oct. 28, and all games are played on Saturdays. The cost is $35 for residents and $44 for non-residents, and jerseys are $15, if needed. The registration deadline is Sept. 1.

Adult Volleyball – This league is open to those 18 and older. Participants must not be high school students or be playing volleyball in college. The season starts Sept. 17, and all games are played on Sundays. The team fee is $150. The registration deadline is Aug. 31.

Adult Flag Football – This league is open to those 18 and older. Participants must not be high school students or be playing football in college. The season starts Sept. 9, and all games are played on Saturdays. The team fee is $475. The registration deadline is Aug. 25.

In addition to the fall leagues, enrollment is now open for the Junior Football Clinic, which is for children ages 3 through kindergarten. The clinic meets on Saturdays and runs Sept. 16-Oct.21. The cost is $35 for residents and $44 for non-residents. The registration deadline is Sept. 8.
